Financial Aid Administration
Financial aid is not administered in this system
Financial aid is handled by a different system, and this module is deliberately unreachable. It is kept that way on purpose — do not re-enable it.
There is nothing to configure here. If you are looking for awards, FAFSA records or cost-of-attendance estimates, they are not in the SIS.
What "unreachable" means precisely
The module was retired in stages, and the result is worth stating exactly, because the code still exists and can mislead someone reading it:
| Layer | State |
|---|---|
| Menu | No FINANCIALAID.* permission nodes exist — migration 144a deleted them along with their grants |
| Frontend | No routes. There are no financial-aid screens to navigate to |
| API | 33 endpoints under /api/v1/financial-aid/ are still registered |
| Effect | Those endpoints are gated on FINANCIALAID.AWARDS, .AWARD_TYPES, .ESTIMATES and .FAFSA — none of which exist in the database — so every call returns 403 |
| Database | The financialaid schema and its rows are untouched |
So the module is closed by the absence of its permission nodes rather than by the absence of its code. That is a sound way to hold it shut: a grant cannot be given for a node that does not exist, so no role can be configured into reaching it.
A trap for whoever cleans this up
authz.KnownNodes still lists the four FINANCIALAID.* codes, and internal/router/nodes_test.go checks route node codes against that list, not against the database. The test therefore passes while every one of these routes is a guaranteed 403.
Re-creating any of those nodes in a migration would silently reopen 33 endpoints. If this module is ever removed properly, delete the Go domain and the KnownNodes entries together — do not add the nodes back to make a test happy.
