Grade Options

  • Enter the letter grade you would give
  • System converts to P or F based on passing threshold

Audit Students

Auditing students:

  • Receive AU (Audit) automatically
  • No letter grade entry needed

Incomplete Grades

An Incomplete (I) or In-Progress (IP) grade is a request, not a grade you pick on the roster. The student files an Incomplete / In-Progress Grade request for the section (from Requests > Start Request; the registrar or Records Office can file it for them), and it comes to you because you teach that section:

  1. Open it from Requests > My Approvals
  2. Fill in the instructor form:
    • What the student must do to complete the course
    • Final grade due -- only if earlier than the default deadline, which is the end of the next regular term (fall, winter or spring; summer does not count). A fall incomplete is due at the end of winter; a spring or summer one at the end of fall
    • Default grade -- the letter grade recorded if no final grade arrives in time, from the course's grading scale (for example, C)
  3. Approve to send it on to the Records Office

When the Records Office approves, the I or IP grade is recorded on the enrollment with its deadline and default grade. Submit the final grade on the roster as usual before the deadline.

WARNING

An I or IP still in place after its deadline is replaced by the default grade automatically, by a daily job. A final grade you submitted in time has already replaced the I/IP and is never touched. The change appears in the grade history like any other.

Midterm grades

Midterm grades are entered on the same roster with the Midterm / Final toggle, inside the term's midterm window. See Grade Roster.
