Viewing Current Grades

This Term

  1. Navigate to Academics > Grades
  2. Select the current term
  3. View grades for each enrolled course

INFO

Grades appear as they are submitted by instructors. Check back periodically during finals week.

Grade Status

  • Posted - Final grade submitted
  • In Progress - Course ongoing, no grade yet
  • Incomplete - Temporary grade pending completion. An Incomplete is granted through an Incomplete / In-Progress Grade request; it carries a deadline, and a default grade that is recorded if the work is not finished by then
  • Pending - Your instructor has submitted the grade, but the registrar has not released grades for the term yet
  • Held - Your grade has been posted, but you need to do something before you can see it, usually complete the course evaluation. A notice at the top of the page tells you what to do and gives a link. The grade appears as soon as your completion is recorded, or on the date the registrar set. Your cumulative GPA is hidden while any grade is held, because it would reveal that grade.

Midterm Grades

A Midterm column appears for any term in which an instructor has posted a midterm grade. A midterm grade is a progress report: it is not part of your GPA and does not appear on your transcript.

What-If GPA Calculator

See what your GPA would become if you earned particular grades, for example in the courses you are taking this term.

  1. Open GPA Calculator from the menu. The What-If GPA Calculator opens on your own record
  2. Check the Academic level. If you have more than one (for example, undergraduate and graduate), the calculator starts on the level with the most credits behind it; choose another from the list to project that one instead
  3. A note shows the starting point: your current GPA for that level and the GPA credits behind it. Other levels are not included
  4. Click Add Course for each course you want to try
  5. For each course, set the Credits and choose a Grade. The grade list offers only grades that count toward GPA on your level's grading scale, and the Grade Point Scale card underneath shows what each one is worth
  6. Remove a row with its × button, or start over with Clear All

The summary updates as you go:

FigureMeaning
Total Credits / Total Quality PointsFor the courses you entered
Calculated GPAThe GPA of the entered courses on their own
Current GPAYour GPA for the level now
Projected GPAYour GPA for the level with the entered courses added to it
ChangeProjected minus current

A projection, not a record

Nothing you enter is saved or seen by anyone else, and it does not change your grades. The calculator adds the courses you enter on top of your record, so it does not show the effect of repeating a course whose earlier grade would be replaced. Ask your advisor or the Registrar's Office about repeats.

Transcripts

Unofficial Transcript

View and print your unofficial transcript:

  1. Go to Transcripts
  2. Click Print Unofficial

The printout carries an UNOFFICIAL watermark on every page. It shows:

  • Personal information
  • All coursework and grades
  • Cumulative GPA
  • Degree(s) awarded

Official Transcript

Official transcripts are issued by the Records Office; contact them to request one. An official transcript cannot be printed from your own account.

INFO

A transcript hold (for example, an unpaid balance) stops the Records Office from issuing an official transcript until it is cleared. It does not stop you viewing or printing your unofficial transcript.

Grade Appeals

If you believe a grade is incorrect:

  1. Contact the instructor first
  2. If unresolved, contact the department chair
  3. Follow your institution's grade appeal process
