My Notes

Read the notes that college staff have shared with you.

What a note is

Staff such as your advisor, your instructors and the Registrar's Office can write notes on your student record, for example to record what was agreed at an advising meeting. Most notes are for staff only. When the person writing a note chooses to share it with you, it appears on your My Notes page.

Reading your notes

  1. Open My Notes from the menu
  2. Each note shows its subject, who wrote it, when, and its category (such as Advising or Academic Concern)
  3. Notes you have not read before are marked New. Opening the page marks them read
  4. Download any attached files from the bottom of the note

If no notes have been shared with you, the page says so.

When a note is shared with you

You are told in two ways:

  • The notification bell. The bell at the top of every page shows a red count of your unread notifications. Click it to see the latest; click a notification to go straight to the note. Mark all read clears the count
  • Email. You receive an email saying that a note has been shared with you and who shared it, with a link. For privacy, the note itself is never included in the email: sign in to read it

Things to know

  • Notes cannot be edited. If something in a note needs correcting, the author adds another note.
  • A note can be withdrawn. If the author retracts a note, it disappears from your page.
  • Questions about a note go to the person who wrote it.
